I have a little boy who loves anything with wheels and this cake was for him. It went against everything in me to no have clean lines and orderly but it is not about what I want but what my son would like. This cake is a pile of mud plan and simple. I put the cake on a fondant covered board with a road and parking lot. At the party I took off the top two layers of the cake and let him drive diggers and dumpers to his hearts content. That is what a cake should be, entertainment and good food. It was so much fun watching my little boy have so much fun!
